Description

Chevrolet Corvette C1, year 1954.
Colour white combined with a red interior.
Red vinyl upholstery on the seats and doors combined with red carpet on the floor. Beige soft-top. The 1954 Corvette C1 is the first edition of this legendary American sports car.
Of this first series only 3950 examples were built, the cars were all delivered in white with a red interior and a beige soft-top.
The Chevrolet corvette was intended to be built in limited numbers, hence the use of fiberglass for the bodywork.
Every Corvette since has featured a composite-material body.
This first model is the only Corvette model featuring a six cylinder in-line engine, all the later models were fitted with V8 engines. The ‘straigh-six’ Chevrolet ‘Blue flame’ engine delivers 152 bhp.
The engine is fitted with three carburettors and the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an automatic three-speed gearbox. This beautiful example is in a good and super original condition, the interior is fully original showing signs of age to the driver seat vinyl.
The wonderful curved original side windows are still present with the car.
This Chevrolet Corvette is a true time capsule which brings you (or makes you relive) the great ‘rock and roll’ atmosphere of the 1950s. Last year the car has received extensive service, all the invoices are present.
